Meezer Monday - meal time

A conversation.

Carmela: Momma, is it true that Lucinda can eat all the stinky goodness she wants?

Momma: Yes, dear. The special vet said that she needs to gain some weight so she can get stronger.

Moe: Momma, can I eat her leftovers? She doesn't finish it all.

Momma: No, Moe. We need to leave her food out so if she gets hungry, she won't have to wait.

Moe: But it smells so good. Can I have a taste?

Momma: Okay, only a taste. Save the rest. And, Carmela?

Carmela: Yes, Momma?

Momma: No sneaking behind my back. You had a good breakfast.

Carmela: Oh, Momma!

Lucinda (from the kitchen): Nom, nom, nom! This is good chow. I'm glad that I'm hungry all the time.

Finally Friday

Hi every furry one!

It's me, Lucinda. I am here in my little bed waiting for momma to come home from where ever she goes in the morning. I think it's called a school. I wonder what kind of fish are in this school? Anyway, I have an appointment with my special vet to see if all the meds and sub-qs are working. I'm feeling pretty good. I have been purring more lately. I haven't been talking to my mouse at all. I hope to start that again, as my mousie is looking kind of lonely.

I think I will take a nap now.

See you later!

Notes from Moe

Hey, it's me, Moe!

I want to thank all of you for visiting me and my girls. We all enjoy reading your comments.

It's a quiet day here in Chicago. The weather is cool for August, but we aren't complaining. That gives me an excuse to snuggle up to Carmela!

Lucinda is starting to get stronger. She knows that the needle pricks and tuna flavored drops are good for her. I want her around for a long time.

Have a great day everyone!

Look into my eyes.

Good.

Are you ready?

You will give me many pats and treats.

For this I will give you many purrs!

Lazy weekend

We here at Chicats spent the weekend enjoying having momma home. She comes home tired and ready for kitty love. We wait at the door to give her as much as she needs. Of course, she has to feed us first!

We know that this past week has been a tough one for members of the cat bloggers. We hope that time will heal the holes in all of your hearts. Cherish the memories of those you have lost and embrace the memories that are to come.

Meow for now!

P.S. Momma went to the store and forgot to get us treats! Carmela will commence with toe-biting at midnight.

Momma, you are a pain!

Hi, it's me, Lucinda.

I wanted my mom to start blogging again. She tells us about all the fun cats, bunnies, dogs, etc. that she has been reading about.

Now, I want to explain why she is a pain in my neck. You see, my kidneys haven't been working right since last October. It seemed be under control. I have been eating my special food, but I got real sick last week. I got put into my pretty pink PTU and taken to a special doctor.

I get stuck by a needle 2 time a day for sub-q's. I am a good girl and just squirm a little. When it's over, I get a treat of baby food. Just a little as a reward. Carmella usually mooches some too! I love my mom, and I know that she wants me to be as happy and healthy as can be.

We hope that everyone has a peaceful, quiet weekend.

Meow for now!

Statue cats

Hi everyone. Moe here. Thank you to those cats who have visited. We want to hear from you!

We are a close knit family. We are protective of each other and you will frequently find at least two of us together. Here I am with my honeybun, Camela lounging by our favorite statues. We like to rub up against them and sing them a song. They haven't told us their names yet, but we will tempt them with treats to get them to talk.

That's all for now. Tomorrow, Lucinda will tell you why Catmomma is a "pain in the neck"!

Meow for now!

Friday Cat Blogging - Wake up call!

A recent Saturday morning event:

Lucinda: Mom, get up. I'm hungry! (purr, headbutt, purr)

Catmomma: Oh no Lucinda, it's too early. Go back to sleep.

Lucinda: sigh Ok (plops down)

A few minutes later -

Lucinda: Mommm, please? (purr, purr, sneeze)

CM: Oh, yuck! Thanks for sneezing on my pillow! Alright, you win.

Moral of the story, the snooze button doesn't always work on my cataclock!

PS: It’s Feline Friday at The Modulator .

Friday cat blogging - A couch for two

When we brought Moe he was shellshocked at first. He came to a house with no cats, no friends or family around him except for Lucinda. He had us humans and it took him time to adapt. Moe hid under the bed for a couple of weeks. I coaxed him out by giving him brushings which he loved. He was just a big boy that no one bothered to get to know. Now, he knows every move we are going to make. He joins me in the bathroom in the morning, and tries to get into Catdads sock drawer. He is a lot of fun and has found his soulmate in Carmela.

Catmomma's story,

I have always loved cats, ever since Miki, the first cat that I remember. He was a Siamese and very devoted to my mother. He put up with my tail pulling and eventually became a good friend.

When I first met my husband, four years ago, he came to the conclusion that I needed cats. I was living in a small apartment that was not suitable for cats. I was cat sitting for a friend's cats and was always talking about cats. So, after we were married for four months, we decided that the time was right to adopt. We wanted adult cats because we did not have the time to house train kittens. We found a local breeder and made an appointment to visit them. There were lots of cats napping in beds around the house. We chose Lucinda (AKA Simply Delicious and Zoom-Zoom) and Moe (sibling of Larry and Curly). Two months later in May 2003, we adopted Carmela (AKA - Scandelous). These cats are well socialized as they grew up with their family all around them.

I look forward to sharing more of their story with all of you.

And now...Carmela!

Dear furry friends,

I'm Carmela and I'm happy to be here. Catmomma calls me Moe's Beau! You can find us snuggling together somewhere in the house. Our personal favorite is the laundry basket. It smells so good!

This morning, I was on bug patrol. I saw a big yummy bug with lots of legs on the wall. I sat on the bed and meowed to let my people know that I wanted to get at it. Momma took a stick and knocked it down, but it got lost. Maybe it'll turn up later.

Here's a picture of me (the light brown) and my sister (the sable brown.) Usually, there there are three of us in the bed, but Moe was off napping on his favorite pillow.

Well, that's all for now!

Introducing: Moe

Hello out there!

My name is Moe (my brothers were named Larry and Curly!) I am a handsome boy with a chocolate brown coat. I love my humans and my girls, especially Carmela. You will meet her tomorrow. It's been a busy day so far. Got up with catdad and helped him read. Got fed and loved by catmom. Well, it's time for the morning nap.

Hello and welcome!

Hi! I'm Lucinda!

I am a sable brown Burmese who lives with my sister Carmela, my cousin Moe and my catmomma and catdaddy. Some of my favorite things to do are: talking to my mousie, sitting on my catmomma's shoulder, and drinking from the dripping faucet. I look foward to hearing from other kitties and their beans.

Meow, Meow, for now!
