We here at Chicats are overwhelmed by all the kind thoughts and prayers.
It is a cool and dry day here in Chicago. It is peaceful in the house. All the anxiety is gone.
Lucinda was getting weaker by the day. I did all that the doctors told me to do. The daily medicine, the fluid therapy, the eventual modified syringe feeding. I knew that a choice had to be made to help her find her peace. She ended up making the choice for us.
She is with her family beyond the Bridge.

It is always very hard to loose such a special friend. We are thinking of you still.
It's always so hard. You do so much for them, and you'd give anything to keep them with you, but in the end you have to do what is best for them. And you did.

Sometimes you just do all you can and then there is nothing else to do but to help them pass on. It's the hardest but kindest thing. The biggest gift.
